No sleeping in for Joe today, he made three radio appearances on Columbia’s 92.1 and 94.3 The River FM starting at 7:40am.

Columbia’s 92.1 morning show is hosted by a familiar voice, former Columbia TV anchor Tim Miller. Joe and Tim chatted about the upcoming Hometown Cookout Tour which begins Friday with a big bash at Joe’s West Columbia campaign headquarters.

Tim asked Joe about the fact Social Security has gone in the red for the first time ever. Joe stressed the importance of cutting needless spending and auditing the so-called “stimulus” plan.

Joe then moved on a little further up the FM dial to chat with Monty Hill of 94.3 “The River” FM. The station has a new format and is dedicated to a wide mix of classic rock. Joe took a few minutes to talk about both the Hometown Cookout and the budget mess this country finds itself in because of excessive spending by liberals in Washington.

Talk about a fun morning radio format. After Joe’s interview, Monty immediately gave listeners a tune from the band “Toto.”

Joe’s radio swing didn’t end there on the FM dial, he then called into the Morning News with Gary David on Columbia’s WVOC AM-560.

Joe and Gary chatted about the Hometown Cookouts and went over some ways Joe wants to Cut The Fat out of the bloated budget passed by Nancy Pelosi and her gang of liberals

Joe Wilson has earned the title of “taxpayer hero” from the government watchdog group Council for Citizens Against Government Waste. (CCAGW) The group credits Wilson for standing up for families and small businesses.

In comparison, the two Democrat members of the South Carolina delegation both scored a whopping 0% when it came to protecting taxpayers.

The CCAGW calls Wilson’s ranking “a true testament of (Wilson’s) willingness to stand up for American taxpayers.”

Wilson’s listing as a “taxpayer hero,” is well-timed, since tonight Joe will be hosting a tele-town hall on ways to cut federal spending.

A new summertime tradition starts this Friday as Joe Wilson kicks off his Hometown Cookout Tour!

Friday’s event will take place in the parking lot of his West Columbia campaign headquarters (131 State Street) CLICK HERE for map. All events are free and open to the public.

Wilson will be head chef, grilling up food and giving his ideas on cutting the fat! Joe’s detailed plans for job creation, cutting taxes and cutting the fat from the federal budget are central themes of the campaign.

Wilson is taking the lead to “cut the fat” and reduce taxes in Washington, calling for a 20% cut in discretionary spending, which would put spending back to 2008 levels. Under Nancy Pelosi’s control, spending has increased 28% since 2007. Pelosi is a financial donor to Joe’s liberal Democrat opponent.
