No day off for Joe on Labor Day. Joe and Roxanne along with a boatload of volunteers came out to Chapin for the annual Labor Day parade. Here are some snapshots...and check back, we'll have a video posted soon.

Public disapproval with the liberal establishment in Washington is at an all time high. Folks have become aware that the path of smaller government and Reagan conservatism will lead us out of this dark era of liberal recklessness. This sentiment is felt all across the country, and people in South Carolina are demanding that their legislators respond with conservative solutions.

While many representatives are hiding under their desks in fear of the public outrage, Congressman Joe Wilson is out touring the state to help cultivate this rich environment for change and reform. He is meeting with the real economic experts in this state - workers and small business owners.

On the “Joe Means Jobs” bus tour, folks in every corner of the state are talking with Joe and telling him how much they want the era of Big Government to end. Joe strongly agrees with this demand and is under attack from the liberals in Washington because of it. Nancy Pelosi and her liberal friends are funneling money into South Carolina’s liberal campaigns, in an effort to oust honest conservatives like Joe Wilson from office.

It is a long uphill battle that Joe must fight until November, but he is not backing down from Nancy Pelosi’s intimidation tactics. It is imperative that Joe stay out on the campaign trail to help spread the word about what liberals in Washington and even here in South Carolina are doing to bankrupt this state and country. And to let folks know what he is going to do about it.

Click here to watch a video of Joe while on his bus tour!

Will you stand with Joe today and help him defeat the liberals in Washington? It is obvious that they desperately want Joe gone, since they specifically targeted him with their opposition money.

Please help Joe by clicking here to make a donation today!

Today Joe Wilson came under attack for spending around 10-dollars to bring small tokens of his appreciation to Afghanistan veterans and their families. The items in question are nothing more than a glorified shot glass.

Congressman Wilson is a steadfast defender of our military and their families. The above photo shows that any inquiry into an item half the size of a 12-ounce Coke can is another example of how Nancy Pelosi and her liberal allies have their priorities all wrong in Washington. This is what we can expect from folks who have attacked Joe for visiting our troops in a war zone and have taken more than $370,000 from a radical liberal group like Moveon.org that slandered Gen. David Petraeus, the man leading military efforts in Afghanistan.

Congressman Wilson was once asked by a reporter whether he ever purchased anything on a Congressional trip. He mentioned buying some "marble goblets" for troops and their family members. The items cost $1.60 each. The article that resulted from Joe's comment gave his political opponents in Washington the excuse to spend thousands of taxpayer dollars to go after him for buying tokens of his appreciation that cost a total of around $10.

Before the trip to Kabul, the Congressman brought $200 of his own money with him to make personal purchases such as this.

If you are as outraged by these ridiculous allegations as I am, you can help Joe by visiting IStandwithJoe.com to tell Congressman Wilson that you stand with him in the fight against Washington's liberal establishment.

Sincerely,

Dustin Olson

Campaign Manager

Who knew Joe Wilson and NFL Hall of Fame Coach and Broadcaster John Madden had so much in common.

Well, on second thought, Joe doesn't have a popular series of video games with his name on them and from what we can tell, Joe has never coached an NFL team or broadcasted alongside legends like Pat Summerall and Al Michaels.

But, there is one thing Joe and John have in common. Both men enjoy having a really big bus! For Madden, his fear of flying led him to have a bus drive him from game to game when he broadcasted NFL games. For Joe, a bus is a great way to have an annual bus tour which covers the vast Second District and all 10 counties.

So now, let's salute the guy who makes Joe's bus tour happen. His name happens to be John! John Farmer our bus driver.

In the Olympics, they spend millions of dollars to have dancers, musicians, large inflatable animals (see Vancouver 2010 games) flame throwers, you name it, to signify the end of the event with an elaborate closing ceremony. Then they put out a really big torch.

In pro sports, typically a trophy is handed out and t-shirts and hats are handed out to the participants while lots of showering of beverages takes place.

When the Joe Means Jobs Bus Tour made its final stop Friday afternoon in the Lowcountry, handshakes, a few high fives and a couple of "go Joe" shouts marked the end to a 10 county adventure. We thought a big Olympic-style torch might be a little bit much, and somehow the imagery of a Congressman spraying people with a big champagne bottle didn't make it very far either.

Friday started at the Berry Island Cafe on Lady's Island before moving onto the Hobbit Hill Daycare Center in Beaufort. Despite the tough economy, the daycare center hasn't raised fees in the past three years. Joe learned firsthand how locally-owned businesses are doing all they can to bring down expenses to keep people on the job and help parents afford quality child care Joe told the parents.

The highlight certainly had to be Joe reading "Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom" to a room of 3 year-olds. As a father of 4 and grandfather, Joe felt right at home sitting in a rocking chair and trading in his Congressional duties for fatherly ones.

The Joe Means Jobs Express welcomed Hilton Head Island Packet reporter Patrick Donohue Friday morning. He spend the entire day on the bus and will have an in-depth story in an upcoming paper. Joe welcomed Patrick and some campaign volunteers on board and a good time was had by all.

Joe then moved onto Butler Marine in Beaufort where he helped do a maintence check on a boat motor. Joe and company also checked out some of the spiffy boats there. Reporter Wendy Pollitzer of The Island News swung by after her morning run to take a few pictures for the locally-owned paper.

Lunch was at one of our favorite haunts, Bluffton BBQ. Ted and Donna Huffman always serve a great meal which made for some happy bus riders.

We wrapped up the tour in grand style, at Contemporary 1 Furniture in Bluffton. This locally-owned business specializes in exotic furniture from around the world. Owner Gill Fisher praised Joe for his stance on illegial immigration. Fisher says illegal immigrants are hurting his business and bringing down the quality of the labor pool in the Lowcountry.

In the coming days we'll upload more pictures from the Joe Means Jobs Bus Tour and add a few more videos as well (because this typing and uploading from a bus is tough). There's no doubt Joe has a strong committment to the Second District after seeing him interact personally with so many business owners and constituents.

Thanks to our volunteers and bus driver John Farmer for doing such a great job helping us get from point "A" to "B," it's been a fun ride aboard the bus, a tradition Joe Wilson says will keep going strong. -- Communications Director Brian DeRoy

In the Olympics, they spend millions of dollars to have dancers, musicians, large inflatable animals (see Vancouver 2010 games) flame throwers, you name it, to signify the end of the event with an elaborate closing ceremony.
The opportunity for concerned citizens everywhere to make their voices heard is coming this November! For the past two years, we have watched in horror as liberals in Washington have thrown around your taxpayer dollars like Monopoly money. Well, we now have the chance to turn around these reckless policies and make them a part of history, instead of our future. At this very moment, Congressman Joe Wilson is doing all he can to spread the word about how conservative solutions can fix many of the problems facing America. He is spending valuable time with folks all across the state to get their opinions and to convince liberals that Big Government is bankrupting this nation.

You voted for Joe because you wanted a leader who is bold enough to stand up to people like Nancy Pelosi and say, “I will not allow you to weaken the country with your liberal agenda!” Now, you will have the opportunity to send the same message in this fall’s election.

However, standing up for your conservative values does not begin and end in a polling booth. The hard work and dedication it takes to campaign for individual rights and liberties costs a tremendous amount of time and money.

Joe is on the road at all times of the day, and we need to do all we can to keep getting the message out loud and clear. Will you please take the time to help Joe reach our August goal of $30,000 by donating today? Whether it’s $50 or $1,000, every little bit matters when you are fighting the Washington establishment.

Please click here to help Joe stay on the road this month!

Joe Wilson loves to be out and about with the public. Many members of Congres would not dare go on a radio show that takes any and all calls and doesn't screen them.

But Joe has prided himself on being accessible and accountable. Joe and Allendale radio legend Carl Gooding had one heck of a time on the "Chit Chat" show, as this video will show. Enjoy!
